The Fairy Queen Hardcover – Picture Book
The Travellers lived happily, travelling from place to place, until one day the bad king and queen arrived in Ireland.
The king of the Travellers, and his grandchildren run away to the woods. There they meet the lovely fairy queen, who turns all the Travellers into leprechauns so they can hide from the bad queen’s soldiers.
A tale rooted in the oral tradition of the Irish Traveller community, by beloved storyteller Chrissy Donoghue Ward.
Review
"The strength of this story is the authenticity of the author’s voice, effortlessly creating a story that feels as though it has been passed through the generations."
― Irish Examiner
"Charmingly told, handsomely presented."
― Kirkus Reviews
"The Fairy Queen reminds us of ancient traditions, of oral stories carried down the ages but above all else of the way in which magic will always trump over greed for magic is pure."
